Optional activities for May 5th- May 12.
We are starting our unit on force and motion. We typically do some fun hands on activities and experiments in class. I will pass these on to you over the next couple of weeks. Don't forget to check out benchmark using their login cards. I have lots of stuff on there for your child to access.

Have your child put a dot of paint on each dot, then hold the paper up to see what happens to the paint when the paper is held up. They should notice the paint dripping down. You could do dots all around the paper or your could do a new paper with random lots. This time hold the paper one way then another to see what happens to the paint. Make sure you give your child time to use the word gravity. Using the word will help them commit it to memory. Ask them what makes the paint move?

I've still been working in my garden, and fishing. I'm hoping to go for a camping trip soon too. Tatum got his "PB" yesterday. That stands for personal best.

I hope all is well. We are on our last weeks of the theme wants and needs. Most of the materials are on Benchmark. I see Troy completed the entire list of assignments for Benchmark this week. I hope you liked it. I also see that Troy and Anna W. have done some lessons on I-ready. I'm so glad they are keeping their brains active.

Optional Activities for 4/20-4/24
Puede preguntarle a su hijo cuáles son algunas de las cosas que necesitamos para vivir y cuáles son las cosas que solo queremos. Tal comida, agua, refugio y aire. Las cosas que queremos pueden ser juguetes, teléfonos, videojuegos y dulces. Al realizar la actividad de bingo, su hijo puede dibujar los deseos o necesidades que le sugieren y usted puede ayudarlos a etiquetar. También puedes cortarlo cuando hayas terminado para convertirlo en un divertido juego de clasificación. Gracias y disfruta!

You can ask your child what are some things that are necessary for us to live and what are things that we just want. Such food, water, shelter, and air. Things that we want may be toys, phones, video games, and candy. When making the bingo activity your child can draw the wants or needs they suggest and you can help them label. You can also cut it out when you are done to turn it into a fun sorting game. Thank you and enjoy!

A note for parents,
I know I put out a lot of things for you to do with your children, between the packets the daily activities and the computer games. Please do not feel like you need to do all of these things. The most important thing is to help your child through this challenging time, but please consider your whole child, spiritually, emotionally, physically and their education. Balance is the key. Remember also that in order to take best care of your family, you must also take the best care of yourself. Talk with you soon.
